The Distinguished Club Program

Toastmasters Clubs serve to help members improve their speaking, listening, and thinking skills to enable them to become better communicators and leaders. One of the tools used to measure a club's health and success at creating an environment conducive to improving these vital skills is the Distinguished Club Program. Set by Toastmasters International, the program outlines 10 goals each club sets out to achieve during the Toastmaster year of July 1 through June 30. A club's ability to achieve these goals is an indication of the strength and vitality of the club and the level of the club's excellence.

In addition to the 10 goals show below, there is a membership requirement of club charter strength (20 members) or better, or a net gain of 5 members as of the end of the Toastmaster year (June 30th). Clubs that achieve 5 or 6 goals plus the membership requirement are awarded the status of "Distinguished Club." Clubs that achieve 7 or 8 goals plus the membership requirement are awarded the status of "Select Distinguished Club." Clubs that achieve 9 or 10 of the goals plus the membership requirement are awarded the status of "President's Distinguished Club."

At Gilbert, we don't just strive for excellence, we make a habit of it!

Gilbert achieves 10 out of 10 goals every year!
